COVID-19 Response and suspension of in-person worship services

Hello Kardia family,

You may be aware of the developing situation with the coronavirus and how different parts of our society are responding.

I first want to speak the peace of Christ to all of us. We can be secure in the knowledge that God is with us and can see us through any situation or crisis. Moreover, every crisis becomes an opportunity for Christians to love and serve the world in their time of need.

We also want to act with prudence and wisdom. After much prayer and consultation with church leadership, I believe it is the right thing to do to suspend in-person worship gatherings for the time being. We will not have public worship service at the church campus beginning this Sunday, March 15. I foresee that this will be the case for the next couple of weeks at least, but we will keep our eye on the situation and see when we can once again worship together in person.

We are planning to offer online worship experiences in place of in-person gatherings. Please stay tuned for more information on the particulars of how you can access those services.

The main place to go for news will be our church website: kardiachurch.org. The reason for this is that the website is the most broadly accessible communication platform that we have. We will also post updates to our Facebook page and through our email list, but I know that not everyone checks Facebook and not everyone wants to be on our email list.

Please know that we are not making this decision out of fear, but out of love for the people in our city and nation, to protect the vulnerable and to stop the spread of the coronavirus before it becomes more of an issue.

May God be with us and work through us to be light and salt to the world in this time.

Pastor Steve

The Lie of Racism
