“We Need You to Help Rebuild the House of God”
Nehemiah 3:1-14

The Israelites had to rebuild Jerusalem after returning from exile. Many said it couldn’t be done, that it was impossible. But through God’s grace, Nehemiah’s leadership and the people’s willingness to work, they accomplished the impossible.

As we look forward to a new normal, there is much work to be done. God calls each of us to take our place, side by side, as we do the joyful work of rebuilding what the past year of the pandemic has broken down. We will rebuild better and stronger than before by the grace of God. Let’s do it together!

“Carried by the Spirit of God”
Romans 8:12-17

Sometimes, we need to be carried. When we’re sick, we need to be carried. When we’re weak, we need others to help carry our burdens. The Holy Spirit sometimes leads us by carrying us. And following the Holy Spirit sometimes means allowing the Spirit to carry us. This is the key to living in the fullness of our freedom as children of God.

On the day of Pentecost, God breathed his Spirit into his church and the church came alive, finding its voice. We are still called to be the church of God that is filled with the Spirit of God in order to proclaim the mighty works of God to the world.

Dealing With Burnout: Allies
1 Kings 19:13b-18

Sometimes, God gives us a job that’s too big for us so that he can partner us with allies. We were created to be in community. One of the reasons why we burnout is because we try to do things alone that we are meant to do together. As we humble ourselves and confess our need for one another, we can finish jobs that were previously overwhelming without burning out.
